African Cultural Week & AfriCa Fest 2018




6th Annual African Cultural Week May 25 to June 3 & Africa Fest return to Victoria.

Celebrate Victoria’s 6th annual Africa Fest on Saturday, May 26, 2018 in the Greater Victoria Public Library (downtown) Courtyard from 11am - 5pm.
Hosted by the Victoria African and Caribbean Cultural Society (VACCS) & Pulchérie N. Mboussi, the festival features lively music, dance, exquisite and exotic food, informative sessions, fashion, and much more.
“We're excited that the festival is now in its sixth year. The African continent has over 3,000 distinct cultures and we believe Victoria residents will get a real glimpse into African culture with this festival."
The festival will feature local artists, African music and dance, a fashion show, interactive games and prizes, as well as activities for kids.
Attendees can also look forward to various items on display and for sale, such as cultural artwork, crafts, clothing, music, and African inspired beauty products such as Shea butter. A detailed schedule is provided on our website.
The festival’s special activity is the projection of AMOURA.
AMOURA: BEING A WOMAN IN CAMEROON/ĂŠTRE FEMME ET CAMEROUNAISE. The screening will be followed by a conversation with
Wanda Jemly: Actor & Frederique Remy: Director.

The festival is part of the annual African Cultural week, which wraps up on June 2nd with a closing gala at the White Eagle Polish Hall (90 Dock St).
African born Designer will come together and share with you their creations. 
Sunday June 3rd, Close off  African Cultural Week at this fun family oriented afternoon gathering. Come mix, mingle, BBQ, appies, drinks and music! Thank you Imagine Studio CafĂ© for hosting the party, and supporting African Cultural Week!
